It is not a straightforward task to move to Ireland and start working. There are regulations and exams that must be passed in order to succeed as a pharmacist in Ireland. They are detailed below:
● Completion of paperwork with the PSI (Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland)
● English language exam (IELTS) must be passed at grade 7 or higher
● Difficulty understanding pharmacy prescription systems and laws
● On the job training can be difficult to find by yourself

The academy is a joint venture between three established businesses – Excellent Pharmacist Academy, Babel Academy of English and Clarity Locums. The course will take 8 weeks to complete, after which you be in a position to successfully practice as a pharmacist in Ireland. The course achieves this aim in three simple steps:
● Step 1 – Improve your English and prepare for IELTS exam, immerse yourself in Irish culture
Babel Academy of English – Studying at Babel Academy of English you will live English in Dublin. Through intensive classes over an 8 week period you will improve your level of English quickly and prepare thoroughly for the IELTS Academic exam. You will have the opportunity to join social events, to practice English outside the classroom in a more informal environment and develop contacts with other professionals. Accommodation with an Irish family for your entire course gives you full immersion in Irish culture
● Step 2 – Gain knowledge of Irish pharmacy prescriptions and laws, develop relationships with other professionals
Excellent Pharmacist Academy – founded by a practising pharmacist, Ayo Onamusi, Excellent Pharmacist Academy will teach you about the laws and systems of Irish pharmacies. This knowledge will allow you to adapt to the Irish pharmacy community in a structured and successful way.
● Step 3 – Register with PSI, Get professional experience through on-the-job training
Clarity Locums – Founded by a pharmacist, Anthony O’Neill, Clarity Locums provides locums to major chains all over Ireland. Initially, Clarity Locums will provide training placements in local pharmacies during your course and assist in all paperwork when joining the PSI register. Once you have registered as a pharmacist, Clarity Locums will be on hand to provide work all across Ireland. Locum work, or temporary pharmacist work, is a very lucrative area in Ireland. Most locums can expect to earn in excess of 50,000 a year when working as a locum full-time.
