Babel Academy of English school fitout has won The Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland (RIAI) 2021 Award in the category Workplace and Fitout.

The awards are given annually to acknowledge achievement in architecture and celebrate the quality of work carried out by RIAI members and the contribution registered architects make to the built environment. Projects submitted for the 2021 Awards were practically completed between 1 January and 31 December 2020. Babel Academy of English premises is located on Eden Quay, in Dublin city centre, 50 metres from O'Connell Bridge.

David Ferguson, Managing Director, Babel Academy of English: "I am delighted to see Stephen Mulhall's talent recognised. We are really happy with the renovation. The rooms are spacious, well-ventilated, and really nicely designed. It's so important for us that our teachers and students enjoy being in the space, feel comfortable, and that the design is practical and meets their needs. We always want to have a welcoming and inclusive environment. As well as the convenient location, our school is fully accessible for people with disabilities. Completing the project this past year was extremely challenging but we are now seeing the rewards. Having up-to-date school facilities that are both aesthetically and practically designed is so beneficial"

Babel Academy of English is a family run school established in 2017 by David Ferguson, his wife Roisin Keane and longstanding colleague Austin Finnerty. Courses on offer include adult, mini-stay and Erasmus+ programmes throughout the year and a junior summer camp in Raheny, Dublin. Babel Academy of English also runs a high-school placement and guardianship programme.
